The purported senatorial line ups of the two major coalitions are made up of basically the same names, faces and vested interests that have dominated Philippine politics for decades.

Wala na bang iba?

This is one of the reasons why I am emboldened to run; we need someone new in the Senate. Someone who can represent the common tao, especially the poor and marginalized sectors.

Essentially, the traditional candidates and political parties have failed to uplift the lives of our people. It’s time for new parties, new voices and new leaders to enter the Senate and make a change in the lives of our people.

Admittedly, I am an unlikely senatorial candidate. I don’t come from a political clan. I’m not rich. Nor am I a showbiz or media personality. This is precisely the point of my candidacy – that we need someone new, someone with a fresh outlook who can be the voice of the ordinary folk in the Senate.

I will be running as a non-traditional candidate under a new party, the Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan. I will walk the walk and talk the talk of the politics of change in the upper chamber.

By the way, I will be filing my certificate of candidacy on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Abangan…#

  2. Hello Sir Teddy!

    My thoughts on your post:

At feeling close ako.

Yun lamang po. Mabuhay po kayo.

    Salamat po.

    • Hi Reichelle!

    • Thanks DJ. I guess the fact that I don’t come from a politically powerful family, am not a millionaire, and have been an activist involved in various social reform movements for the past 23 years is what sets me apart. Plus the fact that I do the marketing at home and plant my own veggies to eat.

  3. I admire your filing the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill. However, I found it flawed. I have made some suggested improvements on Joe America’s blogsite. The improvements have to do with some sub-principles that I call “non-concurrency of office” and “non-consecutive-serialization of office”. These are not found in the main body of the essay but in the commentary portion.
